Answer:
1. WHAT IS ECOSYSTEM?
ANSWER:
An ecosystem is a community of living organisms in conjunction with the nonliving components of their environment, interacting as a system. These biotic and abiotic components are linked together through nutrient cycles and energy flow
EXAMPLE OF DIVERSE ECOSYSTEM
ANSWER:
example of ecological diversity on a global scale would be the variation in ecosystems, such as deserts, forests, grasslands, wetlands and oceans. Ecological diversity is the largest scale of biodiversity, and within each ecosystem, there is a great deal of both species and genetic diversity.
2. Tropical rainforests are often called the “lungs of the planet” because they generally draw in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. But the amount of carbon dioxide they absorb, or produce, varies hugely with year-to-year variations in the climate.
3. The major Parts of Rain forests are emergent layer, canopy, understory, and forest floor. The emergent layer is the top layer of the rainforest that receive a large amount of direct sunlight. The canopy layer inhibits rainfall because of the pile of thick leaves from different trees. The understory layer does not receive enough amount of sunlight but vines and small plants can survive in this layer. The forest floor serves as forest ground where dried leaves and twigs are abundant.
Largest Rainforests in the World
The largest rainforests in the world are:
Amazon rainforest
Daintree rainforest
Congo Basin rainforest
Types of Rainforest
These are the two types of Rainforest:
Tropical rainforest
Temperate rainforest
4. Coral reef are ecosystems which are full of marine life.they are found in the seas.they are important because many other animals and organisms depend on them.
5. Fringing reefs - grow near the coastline around islands and continents. They are separated from the shore by narrow, shallow lagoons. Fringing reefs are the most common type of reef that we see.
2. Barrier reefs - also parallel the coastline but are separated by deeper, wider lagoons. At their shallowest point, they can reach the water’s surface forming a “barrier” to navigation. The Great Barrier Reef in Australia is the largest and most famous barrier reef in the world.
3. Atolls - are rings of coral that create protected lagoons and are usually located in the middle of the sea. Atolls usually form when islands surrounded by fringing reefs sink into the sea or the sea level rises around them (these islands are often the tops of underwater volcanoes). The fringing reefs continue to grow and eventually form circles with lagoons inside.
